Based in Lancashire, David Barrow is a self-taught painter who became an established artist by capturing the essence of the Northern Soul scene and Mod culture.
Internationally renowned, his artwork captures the mood, colour and feel of iconic bygone times. Local heritage and surroundings are a focal point and inspiration for his paintings. He works predominantly with paint on board and captures moments in time, snapshots and scenarios from everyday life.
Dubbed "the Degas of Northern Soul" by the Observer, he has exhibited across the UK including the Royal Academy London, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Newcastle City Art Gallery, Manchester Academy Fine Arts, and many more.
