Ritchie Collins was born in Prestwick on the West Coast of Scotland in 1978. He has painted all his life and studied painting and illustration at the Glasgow’s College of Building and Printing before settling in Edinburgh where he works from his own gallery/studio.
His work is influenced by the Scottish Coast, wild countryside and the interesting characters he meets along the way. Vibrant colour, simple form and creative use of texture are woven together to give Ritchie’s paintings a truly magical quality.
“Painting for me is like a visual diary, with everyday experiences and thoughts channelled into my paintings, keeping the work fresh and always moving. I don’t think artists have a choice when it comes to expressing themselves, it just comes bursting out from the core of you.”
Ritchie exhibits across UK and New Zealand and has a growing worldwide following with private collectors.
