Artist and printmaker Pamela Grace now lives and works in Galloway, having started her career as a designer, training at the Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels.
She says: "I sketch and paint 'on location' as much as possible and then later in the studio, develop more detail and work on prints and lithographs. I find my inspiration in the countryside with the stark and sculptural shapes of trees in winter and the softer complexities and colours of summer landscapes and hedgerows. I am also drawn to older gardens and allotments where the lines between nature, agriculture and gardening become a little blurred. One of my favourite subjects is the Lions Allotment in Berwick upon Tweed, to which I have returned to paint and sketch several times over the past ten years. I have also enjoyed walking around the old walls and recording views of the historic townscape."
