Having studied at the Scottish College of Textiles, Nikki Monaghan enjoys experimenting in her studio in Bo’ness. As an artist and designer, she creates narrative landscapes and seascapes, as well as quirky birds and figures. Her paintings evolve by layering up acrylics and oil pastels to create texture.
Nikki says: "The quirky and naive feel of my paintings means colour, scale and subject are non representational, this allows me so much scope and fun with experimenting. Working from memory allows my work to take on a stylized abstract feel."
