Anita Klein studied at Chelsea and the Slade schools of art. She is a fellow and past president of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE) and her work is in many private and public collections in Europe, the USA and Australia, including Arts Council England and the British Museum. She divides her time between studios in London and Anghiari, Italy. Technically flawless and with a beautiful air of simplicity, Anita Klein's drawings celebrate the small things we often forget to stop and enjoy. Dividing her time between London and Italy, she has exhibited across Britain, Europe, America, India and Australia over the past 30 years.
"I am always conscious of how I would feel if everything was taken away from me. It’s the small, everyday things that I would miss most, and it is those things that I choose to record. But my art is not just my story. I want everyone who views it to recognise themselves and to appreciate the unremarkable, to find joy in the smallest things."
